Kurt Gouwsventer founded Assetpoint Real Estate in 2006 to work exclusively in industrial property. He spent the preceding years at the JHI Group, joining in 1991 as a rookie broker, moving into management within five years, and reaching JHI's national executive committee shortly after — building the national network of property professionals he still draws on today.
That track record predates Assetpoint itself: Kurt has been involved in creating new industrial precincts since 1991, first at JHI and later through his own company. Assetpoint's footprint in the Northern Suburbs is built on the same groundwork, concentrated along the R300 corridor, where Kurt leads the business's work across Brackengate, Stikland and Bellville Industrial Park.
Kurt's network spans developers, investors and CEOs of listed property funds, built over three decades of transacting in the same corridors he still works in today. He served as chairman of the Stikland CID from its formation in 2012 until a few years ago — a period in which Stikland grew into one of Cape Town's leading industrial nodes. He's now applying that same experience to the next wave of growth, planning developments in the corridor between Cape Town and Paarl.
